Wen invokes her inner Yoda...
Quantum Physicists like many spiritual masters and me, Wen, seek to find a unifying theory that ties everything together. We as humans have a sense that underlying everything is a ONENESS. CAll it God, the Divine Matrix, Universal Life Force Energy, Source or whatever you want. I personally believe we are all talking about the same thing. When we can slow ourselves down enough and limit the insane amount of distractions coming in from the outside and our own minds, that’s when we feel the ONENESS. Meditation practice is one way to get in alignment with the ONENESS.
I recently joined Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey’s 21 day free meditation series as one of my strategies or tools for staying in alignment, for keeping high “vibes”.
I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE the setup of the series.
There’s a centering thought, a Sanskrit Mantra and a Message of the Day to ponder. This is soooo right up my alley. I use quotes of the day and mantras all the time to stay in the zone. I highly recommend it.
The Centering Thought: “Today I am open to the presence of miracles.” mmmmmm yes.
The Sanskrit Mantra: “Samprati Hum - I am the presence of awareness.”
And the Message of the day: “Where there is great love, there are always miracles” - Willa Cather
Let’s ponder this for a moment...
Presence of miracles +
I am the presence of awareness +
Where there is great love, there are miracles = WOW!
I for one believe our very existence on this little water covered rock hurtling through interstellar space is a miracle. We share this little (in universal terms) rock with a mind blowing number of other living things, all conscious, all surviving in different ways. That’s a Frickin’ MIRACLE!! Global warming aside, we are in the “baby bear” zone people because it’s “just right”. Any closer to the sun and we’re essentially baked. Any further away and we are popsicles.
Then add in that humans are the presence of awareness, and if we are in a loving state, more miracles happen. That’s what I think the other two lines are getting at. ONENESS is looking through our eyes, and where we focus love, we can make new realities, we can co-create with the ONENESS! That’s an even bigger MIRACLE!! Feel into that for a second. It’s powerful stuff! We are powerful beings. We can “use the force, Luke.”
I remember I originally grasped this concept when I was reading or perhaps watching E.B. White’s children’s novel Charlotte’s Web for like the millionth time teaching 3rd grade. For those of you who haven’t experienced it about 20 times like me, it’s a charming fiction story about the friendship between a girl, her pig and a spider.
The miracle scene takes place when Fran’s mother thinks the girl is losing her marbles. The mother takes her to the doctor because she’s talking to the farm animals. The Doctor hears the mother out and then basically tells her Fran is FINE!
The mother then asks if he understands how there could be a word in the spider’s web, and he replies, “...I don’t understand how a spider learned to spin a web in the first place. When the words appeared, everyone said they were a miracle. But nobody pointed out that the web itself is a miracle.” When she responds that it’s "only a spider's web," he asks her pointedly, “Ever try to spin one?”
The web is a miracle! We are miracles! We make miracles through love! Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
